Great German food! Reasonably priced. Historic building with a gorgeous bar area made from wood removed from a local high school gym.

I love going to Egg Harbor Festhaus! Since they have opened in May, my family and I have been there 5 times! We always come back for the German beer on tap and the Bavarian Pretzels! Great place for dinner or just hanging out at the bar. They also have some live entertainment that fits the vibe of the bar perfectly!

A real Gem!! Unique bar in a residential area, easy to miss. An intimate, quiet, local atmosphere with charm. Good selection of German beer on tap. Limited menu of German cuisine but all food items are fresh and great quality for price. Dark heavy craftsman wood decor, cukoo clock on wall. A few screens for the sports games. Weekly specials and live music. Owner is always around and up for spinning the local folklore yarn.

Great food and good beer selection. Cannot beat the prices for the quality you get! Must go place for dinner

Went to for the early bird with by 92 year old mother, maiden name Froehlich.
The German menu is small but sufficient. I understand it changes throughout the week with some special dishes like chicken and dumplings.
We both had pork schnitzel (breaded pork cutlet) with brown mushroom gravy, sauerkraut and spaetzle. All as good as I've had in the best German restaurant Northeast Philly.
I don't know when the the bar room was built 50-100 years ago? The Old Europe paneling, metal ceiling and hardwood floors are something to see if you appreciate the type of atmosphere.
Service was good and friendly.
Can't wait to go back.

Really good German food. Small menu but each item delicious. Chef really cares.

Mike is an awesome bartender!!! The french onion soup is so good, the frizzled onions they put on top make it out of this world!!

Excellent German food and atmosphere! Our group had various menu items, such as veal and chicken schnitzel, Bavarian pretzel with various mustards, and wurst with cheese appetizers, etc. Plus desserts and coffee. Everything was wunderbar! The wait staff was attentive without being obtrusive, and the owner stopped by to see how we all were doing. Some of our group has now been there several times, and each visit has been deliciously good!

We had a party of 20 family, that met for Sunday dinner. We are of German heritage and have heard the great reviews and wanted to support this business. We love German food. They reserved a room for us. The service was impecable. Just about everything on the menu was ordered. It was all great. No complaints from anyone. I highly recommend you try this restaurant.

Located in a quaint neighborhood, one block from Saint Nicholas Catholic Church , which was built in 1864 , this was our second time of dining in this newly refurbished established tavern/restaurant. (historically, the Old Roesch Hotel).

Therefore, I tried a different wine selection and some of the appetizers that together created my meal. All the food continues to be excellent.

See my photos of the Potato-Leek soup, German macaroni and cheese which is made with beer cheese, the huge Bavarian pretzels which are served with three dips including a beer cheese, and the knockwurst meal, as well as the lunch meat appetizer platter , and then ending up with the bee sting cake .

Currently the owners have a limited menu as they just opened, but several of the recipes are from the owners' family heritage. The bee sting cake actually uses local honey from Egg Harbor City where the woman who makes the cakes uses the honey from her own personal bees.

The chef came by our tables to check on our meals and we were excited to see that it was our neighbor, who is a professional chef!

We brought a small gathering of 15 people from our church choir. We were in the back room which is titled the Egg Harbor Room. This is decorated with Oktoberfest themed Decor, beer steins, and Bavarian music playing in the background.

Anne who owns the restaurant with her husband Bob, came to greet us.. The new owners have a great vision to expand upon the decor with historical photos and family crests of Egg Harbor City.

Live music begins next Wed, and special "tasting" nights starting Tues. June 12, 2018!

*I have added some more photos of our first visit to the Festhaus with some of our schnitzel meals, the baked potato skins, pretzels, and the Festhaus itself.

Great German food, fun atmosphere and a nice selection of German (and other) beers!

Neighborhood bar/pub. Quaint ambiance, good beer selection, limited menu options since they just opened. Foos was excellent- The pretzel was wonderful, the chicken schnitzel was great - the lemon sauce was perfectly subtle. Spaetzle, red cabbage, and German potato salad rounded out the meal. We shared one platter , and there was still food leftover!

Melody Penfound
